Verna M. Bliesmer

DUNNELL:   A Celebration of Life Service for Verna M. Bliesmer, 83, of Dunnell, Minnesota will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minnesota.
Verna was called to her eternal rest on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Aspire of Estherville, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday. The Kramer Family Funeral Home of Welcome, Sherburn, and Trimont, MN, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Verna M. Madsen was born on April 8, 1942 to Christian and Norma (Scott) Madsen in Sidney, Montana.  She received her education from Savage High School with the class of 1960 where she was valedictorian of her class.  In 1960 Verna was united in marriage to Percy Kassner in Glendive, Montana.  After their marriage they lived in Montana and raised their family.  After the death of Percy she met Larry Bliesmer from Dunnell and was married on February 10, 2001 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dunnell, Minnesota.  After marriage they lived in Dunnell.  Verna was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn.  She greatly enjoyed her cats, wood carving, playing Bingo and cards and watching western movies on the television. 
She is survived by her husband, Larry Bliesmer of Dunnell, Minnesota; three sons, Kevin and Cheryl Kassner of Colorado, Todd and Claudia Kassner of Utah and Brian and Misty Kassner of Fairmont, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Racquel and Austin Kassner; great-granddaughter, Whitney Kassner; brother-in-laws, Ernest and Lori Bliesmer of Dunnell, Minnesota; Jon and Robin Bliesmer of Britt, Iowa, Michael Young of Faribault, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Sandra and Allan Moffitt of Taylorville, Missouri; and Kassner relatives.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Norma Madsen; first husband, Percy Kassner; sister, Vera (Mugs) Ler; Brothers, Elver Madsen and Wesley Madsen and other relatives.
