Janice L. Franck

SHERBURN:   A Funeral Service for Janice L. Franck, 88, of Sherburn, Minnesota and formerly of rural Dunnell will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, Minnesota with burial in Lake Belt Cemetery in rural Ceylon, Minnesota.
     Janice was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025 at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn, Minnesota with her family at her side.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, Minnesota and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.   The Kramer Family Funeral Home of Sherburn, Trimont and Welcome, Minnesota are in charge of Janice’s arrangements.

     Janice Lorraine Anderson Franck was born December 6, 1936 at the Fargo Hospital, the daughter of William and Alice (Dahl) Anderson.  She attended Helendale Schools through 8th grade and graduated from Leonard High School in 1954.  She went on to Valley City State Teachers College. In the Fall of 1958, she started teaching elementary at Breckenridge, MN. She started teaching at Fairmont Elementary School in 1960. 
     On July 29, 1962, Janice was united in marriage to LeRoy Charles Franck at West Prairie Church in Kindred, N.D. Together on the Franck family farm, they raised cattle, hogs, and farmed the land. She became a full-time farming partner in 1964.  She was very busy raising four children and watching them be involved in sports. Janice was very active in St. Peters Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, VBS, held various offices in Women of the ELCA, and Adults Saving Kids.  She was a member of the Pork Council Women, Lake Belt Triangle Extension Club, Red Hat Club, and various other organizations. She also was a substitute teacher at Fairmont and Martin County West after retiring from the farm in 1999.  She enjoyed her bible study, gardening, baking, sweets and coffee, and tending to her apple trees.  Janice always found time for her family, grandchildren and quilt making.   In 2010, Janice and LeRoy moved to Fairmont, residing at the Meadows until they moved in 2018 to Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn. 
     Janice leaves behind four children, Nancy (Marv) Hansen of Sherburn, Minn., Denise Meister of Houston, Texas, Keith (Jody) Franck of Dunnell, Minn., Larry (Emily) of Nevis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Rick Deegan and sister-in-law Gladys Gerhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LeRoy; sisters, Charlene Hunter and Wanda Deegan and other relatives.
